Alternate energy appliances
Where can I find information on household refrigerators that are powered by kerosine.  I know that they are quite common in Amish communities and in the "Third World".

I recently saw an Amish product catalogue with all kinds of non-electric appliances, but I can't seem to find it, I know it's out there...Try emailing the "Utne Reader" magazine, they may know which way to point you...If I find that add I'll get back to you..Good luck..

I looked at LP units 14cf ran about $2700 and then I found a Maytag Plus Energy Star unit.
It is 20.7 cf and uses very little electricity.
If you are using an inverter you might want to look at it. I could tell no difference in my energy usage after adding it to my system.

The model number is MTB2156DE I paid about $850.00

Good Luck,
