Using two separate inverters in parallel to make 240 vac.
Is this possible with two 120v exeltech units?

I don't think you can do that with the Exeltech XL series because you won't be able to maintain the phase relationships.  I believe you would have to go to the Exeltech MX series of inverters.

john is correct.

below are some inverters that are "stackable" where two 120vac inverters can be linked to make 240vac.

xantrex dr series, xantrex sw series, xantrex sw plus series, outback fx series, magnum ms4024
