Hi - I am trying to solder some 3 x 2 1/4 solar cells as described in a recent issue of MAKE - thank you Parker Jardine. After I tinned the ribbon tab I'm not sure how to solder the tab to the cell - its difficult and clumsy to perform this. I think I saw mentioned somewhere there is some kind of tape I can use to hold the apparatus in place while soldering ?? Also, am I correct in soldering the tinned side of the ribbon tab face down to the cell (top or positive side I think) ?? That would leave the untinned side to be soldered to the negative or back side of the next cell in series as described in the MAKE article.
Learning,
Ted
