My electric truck is finally running (I'll have more pics in my gallery in the next couple weeks), so I've started on another project I've been meaning to get to.
This one is adding solar power to our Jetski runabout, so we can jam to da tunes while cuttin' butter on the wakeboard or just catching rays on the beach. We added a 3w Sunwize module, a foldable module, an accessory outlet, and a Sony Xplode marine stereo! The accessory outlet is for plugging in the foldable module, but can also be used for plugging in a raft pump, cell phone charger, etc. A few pics are in my gallery now, and I'll have more shortly.
I've already tested the setup, and on a sunny spring day, I can run the stereo at a decent volume for hours without draining the battery, as long as I have the foldable PV module spread out on the seat. When it's running, the alternator is keeping the battery charged, so the foldable can be stowed away. The rear 3w panel keeps the battery healthy, and adds a little power padding if the stereo is left on when the boat is off.
