Skystream offgrid?

Skystream offgrid?
Kinda new to this whole alternative energy thing but have been slowly building a system for my farm in North Dakota.  I have some experience from a small solar/wind system on my sailboat.  My question is, that with a very small scale solar and wind off-grid system, could I tie a Skystream wind turbine directly into the service box to relieve some of the load and increase the amount of usable power?  It's always very windy here and utility companies are starting to put up some very large turbines in my area so I know I'm in the right place to take advantage of it.  I like the concept and simplicity of the Skystream and was hoping that it could be compatible with my small system, possibly with some kind of large blocking diode or inductor between the DC system's inverter and the AC output of the Skystream to protect the inverter.  My aim is to avoid having a huge battery bank.  Looking forward to hearing some ideas.

That is a question probably best answered by your electric power provider. You might find something to go on at one of these sites.

Was "sweeping" out my favorites "closet" (only about a gazillion and half of'em) and found this, - http://www.rurdev.usda.gov/rbs/farmbill/contacts.html - seems like ancient history now.
